Leading up to the Blades’ Coworker Night on March 10, the Blades will be featuring three players to highlight their off-ice routines and workplaces.
Sato Kikuchi is a defender for the Boston Blades and has played in all 26 games so far this season. She travelled from Japan to play here and currently attends classes at Stafford House International.
She is presently taking 3 classes, which she attends five days a week from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Overall, Stafford teaches students from 43 different countries with students’ ages ranging from 16 to 67 years old.
During the typical school year, Stafford has a little over 130 students, but that number doubles for their summer courses.
When Kikuchi is not attending classes, she lives with her teammate, Jetta Rackleff. She has seen a lot of support from her teammates and management throughout the season as well as having her parents present for the You Can Play Night last month.
The Blades are hoping to see some of Kikuchi’s teachers and classmates at their game this Saturday vs. the Markham Thunder. Puck drop is scheduled for 8 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online as well as at the door on game day.
