The Blades are back at home for the start of 2018 after playing the last 8 games on the road.
China Road Trip Recap
Things have not gone exactly the way the Blades planned this season. After their 4-game road trip to China where they faced the Vanke Rays and Kun Lun Red Star, the Blades have fallen to 0-13-2 on the season. So far this season, the Blades have been outscored by a near 3 goals to 1 margin, allowing 63 goals and scoring 22.
Although this trend is a troubling one for Boston’s first professional women’s hockey team, the Blades are hoping for a fresh start for the new year.
January 6 & 7 vs. the Furies
The Blades will come out of the holiday break with games this weekend against the Toronto Furies (3-10-1).
While the Blades sit in seventh place in the CWHL standings, Toronto is just ahead of them in sixth place, and have had similar goal differential challenges (allowing 57, scoring only 25).
The Blades will look for their first win of the season this weekend, while also hoping to hit the reset button, as they turn the calendar to the year 2018.
